After a year of house arrest....

I have been quite busy this year despite some places being closed. Photo safaris have included my first visits to Big Bend National Park, Valley of the Gods (Utah) and Whitewater Draw in Arizona. I also managed to check off a couple of things from my bucket list: 1. photograph big horn sheep in the wild and 2. capture the Milky Way over The Mittens in Monument Valley.

Additionally, I did my first-ever studio shoot with a model and even ventured out of my comfort zone and did some senior/graduation photos for a friends daughter.

Last week I taught a night sky workshop at Pecos National Historical Park and may be doing workshops at another National Park Service unit later this year.

Finally, I have been pleasantly surprised to have won five photo contests this year with my image “Light from Above” earning its sixth win.

Until next time….

WOW!

Tonight the Dona Ana Photography Club announced its awards (via Zoom) for 2020.

As a new member, it was my first time participating. Two of my photos received awards including my photo “The Shadow” winning Best in Class.

The last award given is for Photo-of-the-Year. I was quite surprised to see the winner.

My thanks to the club and the judges. I am honored.

A GREAT HONOR

Pecos National Historical Park has opened an exhibition of my work that includes images from my time as the first-ever Artist-in-Residence for the park.  The title of the exhibit is:  "A Glimpse of Pecos Through the Lens of Stan Ford."  Tentative plans call for the exhibit to continue until the summer of 2019.  If you have a chance, please stop by the park's museum (inside the visitor's center) and check it out.
